of Coloproctology
The Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain
and Ireland, of which Mr Clarke is a member, is a professional
society representing more than 1000 Colon and Rectal specialists
dedicated to advancing and promoting the science and practice
of the treatment of patients with diseases and disorders affecting
the colon, rectum, and anus. It is also known as The Association
of Bowel Specialists.
Association
of Laparoscopic Surgeons
The Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, of
which Mr Clarke is a member, was formed in April 1994 in Harrogate
by the amalgamation of the Society of Minimally Invasive General
Surgeons (SMIGS) and British Surgical Stapling Group (BSSG).
Since that time the ALS has established itself as the main
voice for laparoscopic surgeons in the United Kingdom and
Ireland.
Southern
Rectal Surgery
Set up in 2006 the Southern Rectal Surgery,
which Mr Clarke helped set up, provides an integrated approach
to the treatment of pelvic floor disorders including constipation,
obstructed defecation and faecal incontinence. It has a team
of consultants and allied professionals, who bring together
the knowledge and experience necessary to manage these common
disorders.
Royal
College of Surgeons
The Royal College of Surgeons of England, of
which Mr Clarke is a member, is an independent professional
body and registered charity committed to promoting and advancing
the highest standards of surgical care for patients, regulating
surgery, including dentistry, in England and Wales.
Dorset
Endometriosis Society
The Dorset Endometriosis Society, in which Mr
Clarke is actively involved, exists to provide emotional support
to those who have it, create further awareness and get people
together in a positive environment to support each other.
